The Mantova hut, opened since 1984, is owned by the Alpine Guides of Gressoney. It is 3498 meters above sea level on the glacier Garstelet, ideal starting point for all climbing trips to Monte Rosa.
After 24 years, the hut has been renovated to improve the comfort of guests.
For example, the toilets, which previously stood outside, have been placed in the basement. Another very important novelty, which is very unusual for most of the huts, are the three new showers only for our guests. Always in the basement there is a new room where climbers can change their selves and leave their equipment.
On the ground floor a spacious dining room with a magnificent view of Monte Rosa and across the Alps to Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso can host almost 100 guests and correspond to the numbers of beds, which remains unchanged.
The hut has bedrooms with 3, 4 and 7 beds and a dormitory with 30 beds.
The renovation of the hut, which will end around spring 2010, has been done with the purpose of answer at best to the needs of mountaineers about comforts.
The new owners are three mountain guides from Gressoney and they can help you to better organize your trip.
How to reach us
From the arrival of the new cableway "Passo dei Salati-Punta Indren" in 40 minutes first through the Indren’s glacier and then on an equipped path up till the hut

- HB 50 € per person
- HB mountain guides UIAGM € 30 per guide
- same prices also for the not CAI members
The hut is open from 19th March to 9th May and 9th June to 15th September.
