Walserbuteja is a point of contact to the wooden culture, where you can find and buy the work of various craftsmen from different parts of the Alps. Furniture, cribs, daily life objects and shepherd art in maple, ash, cherry, larch, pine and walnut wood release in the workshop an atmosphere and a scent which is very special. You will find Walserbuteja on the main road of the Valsesia at the entrance of the village of Campertogno. The work has been created by Claudio Chiara who has a past devoted to the mountains as alpine guide, ski teacher and keeper of the Gnifetti and the Margherita Hut. At present he is still devoted to the mountains from the point of view of the environment, culture and traditions of the Alps. Claudio works as joiner and carpenter in his workshop where you will also find Walserbuteja. Every now and then he finds the time to carve with fantasy and skill, always looking for shapes and movements suggested by the wood. A small selection of his sculptures are exhibited in the tiny show room at Pedelegno in the centre of Alagna.Claudio also tries to preserve some mountain charm from the decay and he works in the repair of ancient rural houses.
