If you put an ascent to Castore as a must on your “4000” bucket list, then bear in mind that this particular climb completed in one day is not a challenge for everyone. If your training is excellent, why not make this challenging one-day climb your goal to pursue this summer.
UIAGM guide for the 1-day trip, the cost of the 4x4 to reach the Bettaforca pass and technical equipment (harness, crampons).
Ankle-high boots made of leather, plastic or other waterproof material; warm gloves, warm hat, sunglasses/goggles with good protection (protection 4 is the most suitable), medium-sized backpack, headlamp, lightweight sleeping bag, sunscreen, water bottle; breathable vests (x2), light wool or fleece shirt, heavy fleece, down jacket + shell or wind jacket, heavy socks (x2), warm pants, tights; harness, crampons, telescopic poles and ice axe.
Roped ascents to Castore are organised with a maximum of 3 climbers, plus the guide.
