My name is Osvaldo Antonietti I was born in Varallo in 1963 and have been an Alpine Guide since 1987. I have followed in the footsteps of my father who was a carrier and a guide on Monte Rosa since he was a teenager. I started going to the mountains with him since I was a child. At the age of 8, on a summer outing, he took me to Capanna Margherita at 4559mt, and helped me to discover and love the work of an Alpine Guide. When I was 18 I started my studies to be a Guide and I increased my knowledge and experience of the mountains in 1985 in an expedition in South America. For many years now, I am the head of the Alpine rescue service in Alagna. My favourite sport is off-piste skiing and rock climbing. I love hunting and its long autumn trips in the wild and uncontaminated mountain environment.
Mid season I occupy myself with the reconstruction and maintenance of the refuges at high altitudes with a team from Alagna who have dedicated themselves to keeping up the maintenance of the mountain refuges.
