By combining off-piste and ski touring, it is possible to reach the most intimate corners of these inscrutable mountains and shake hands with the millenary glaciers above. However, if your passion is cross-country skiing, a sunny 15km trail will take you through the enchanted woods of Shennine, which leads you to a stunning view of Monte Rosa on a winding route between Alagna and Riva Valdobbia.
