{"id":6777,"date":"2014-03-27T21:43:05","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T20:43:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.alagna.it\/wp\/?page_id=6777"},"modified":"2022-05-04T16:43:52","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T14:43:52","slug":"piode","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.alagna.it\/en\/where-we-are\/piode\/","title":{"rendered":"Piode"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Piode<\/strong> is a small village in the middle top end of the valley, 752 mt above sea level. <strong>Its name comes from the old schist mine which was used to extract stone slabs for roofing called \u201cpiode\u201d<\/strong>.<br>Beautiful, ancient houses characterize the hamlets on the right side of the river Sesia.<br>From here there is a very nice path through a <strong>forest of conifers and beeches<\/strong> and leads you to the <strong>historical pastures of Meggiana, Alpe Pizzo e Bo Valsesia<\/strong>. <strong>Here you have a magnificent view over the valley and the Mont Rosa massive<\/strong>. There is a road which allows you to reach the pasture Meggiana by car. Worth mentioning is the Parish Church dedicated to Saint Stefano.
