{"id":6782,"date":"2014-03-27T21:56:51","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T20:56:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.alagna.it\/wp\/?page_id=6782"},"modified":"2022-05-02T15:28:13","modified_gmt":"2022-05-02T13:28:13","slug":"scopello","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.alagna.it\/en\/where-we-are\/scopello\/","title":{"rendered":"Scopello"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>A famous tourist spot of the 60\u2019s<\/strong>, Scopello (659 mt above sea level) has experienced a discreet increase in urban growth due to an increase in holiday homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The camping area was the site of the <strong>ancient \u201cRegie Fonderie\u201d<\/strong> <strong>(the Royal Foundary)<\/strong> where you can still see traces and remains of the blast furnace chimney that was 15 mt tall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This was where the coins of the Royal House of the Savoia were minted and in the 19th century they manufactured the cannon balls for Napoleon\u2019s army!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, that which made Scopello famous is without a doubt<strong> Alpe di Mera, with its slopes and ski lifts which are also open during the Summer for tourists and hikers<\/strong>.
