The Kreas Mining Park, located at the foot of Monte Rosa in the municipality of Alagna Valsesia, is a place where the mountain preserves the traces of a long history of labor, ingenuity, and research. The site is divided into two main and complementary attractions:
The San Lorenzo Factory, an ancient production complex that has been recovered and enhanced, houses a museum that tells the story of the Kreas mining site. Through images, objects, original tools, and multimedia installations, the exhibition guides visitors in discovering the techniques of extraction and processing of minerals such as gold, silver, copper, manganese, and iron. The museum does more than just display artifacts: it offers a dialogue between past and present, with a narrative that combines the voices of miners with the experiences of those who explore this world today. The millstone room and the large hydraulic wheel from 1885, one of the few in Europe, bear witness to the technological ingenuity that supported mining activity, making this space one of the most evocative in the park.

The Feldspar Tunnels Route: A 4-Billion-Year Multimedia Experience
The "Journey to the Heart of Monte Rosa" is an immersive experience that takes visitors inside the Kreas tunnels, surrounded by darkness, rock, cold, and humidity. The route begins in the 18th-century "Santo Spirito" tunnel and ascends to the industrial tunnels used for kaolin extraction, offering a narrative journey through the geological and human history of the mountain. Seven themed stations enrich the experience, making it engaging and suitable for everyone, from families to geology enthusiasts. The tunnels, together with the museum, complete the story of the deep connection between Alagna, Monte Rosa, and its mining history.

A guided tour is required to access the tunnels, and the cost is €25.00 (maximum of 30 spots per entry slot; without a confirmed online booking with payment, ticket availability on-site cannot be guaranteed).
