Trattoria Fum Diss was founded in 1973 in Alagna Valsesia by Augusto and Caterina, who opened a traditional restaurant dedicated to authentic Walser cuisine. From the very beginning, their philosophy was to serve homemade dishes prepared with ingredients grown and raised by the family, offering guests a genuine taste of the local culinary heritage.
Over the years, Trattoria Fum Diss has remained a family-run business, first managed by Franca, Jucci, and Osvaldo, and today by Francesco and Cristoforo, Jucci's sons. They have successfully transformed the restaurant into a welcoming agriturismo while preserving the values of hospitality, quality, and respect for traditional Walser recipes.
Today, Trattoria Fum Diss is a destination for visitors looking to experience the authentic flavours of Valsesia. More than 80% of the ingredients used in the kitchen come directly from the family's farm or trusted local producers, ensuring a true farm-to-table experience. Every dish celebrates Walser culinary traditions through seasonal produce, local specialties, and genuine mountain cuisine.
