If you think that climbing an ice waterfall is crazy, you're wrong!

Winter ice is magical, silent, arabesque and shiny. Ice climbing is an incredible experience, less difficult than you'd expect, it will light you up with adrenaline and sometimes even make you fall in love. In Gressoney the waterfalls of the Nicchia, Punta Iolanda, the Ypsilon and Lys Balma are our favorite gym.

In this course we will learn the fundamental of ice climbing in 4 days of study and practice. Excellent course for those who want to approach mountaineering.
Safety, piolet traction, triangle progression, materials and training are the goals we aim to achieve while introducing you to the world of ice water with professionality and competence.

Program

The course takes place in four days in which we will approach this sport on tiptoe. We will start on January 3erand 4th where we will learn to use the materials correctly, to tie knots and to proceed safely in every situation. Once we have learned these notions we will move forward, starting to court the ice with progressions on flat ground, use of ice nails and climb and descend with double ropes. During January 14th and 15th, confident of the knowledge and skills obtained, we will try triangle progression, this time we will rope a frozen waterfall by making doubles on ice hourglasses. This gradual discovery allows you to approach this magical sport without any fear and to benefit of unique adrenaline! We will first teach you how to proceed in total safety so that you can fully enjoy this experience, in total relaxation and peace.
